Samsung 2010 Home Electronics Range - New Features

Samsung’s 2010 Home Electronics Range boasts some great innovative features such as 3D Technology, Internet@TV and AllShare. But what do they actually mean?

3D Technology

3D Imaging is any technique capable of recording 3-dimensional visual information or creating the illusion of depth in an image. There are two prominent methods for displaying 3D images onto a TV – active and passive.

Traditionally, passive 3D uses glasses with red and cyan lenses, which can produce a ghosting effect and is not always able to reproduce true colours. In contrast, active 3D operates by very rapidly alternating images between the left eye and the right eye image giving you the depth of field required for 3D.

Samsung’s new 3D technology uses active LCD shutter glasses (much cooler than the paper glasses!) These glasses eliminate ghosting and give you true colours so you can have a real Full HD 3D cinematic experience.

Thanks to Samsung's 200Hz Motion Plus technology, flicker is now not noticeable, allowing you to watch fast moving action scenes with a precise, clear, and blur free image.

Hyper Real Engine

Samsung’s Hyper Real Engine not only gives you fantastic picture quality but also upscales 2D content to 3D. This solution will enable you to upscale your existing DVDs, Blu Rays, Terrestrial Broadcasts and games into 3D.

Internet@TV

The 2010 internet@TV feature resets the standard for internet-ready TVs and Blu Ray players. The new internet@TV platform provides viewers with a gateway to a multiple of entertainment ranging from Video, Music, Social, Networking, News and Games amongst others. Samsung’s internet@TV offers users a diverse range of content to bring something for everyone in the family. Simply connect your new Samsung device to the internet via Ethernet cable or Samsung Wireless LAN Adaptor to access great services such as LOVEFiLM, BBC iPlayer, Muzu.tv and many others.

AllShare

The AllShare (powered by DLNA) feature allows the TV and Blu Ray player to wirelessly connect to DLNA certified devices such as laptops, cameras and mobile phones using a wireless LAN adaptor. This means you can share movies, photos and music through a single device – your TV and Blu Ray player. This removes the need to copy media onto a USB storage device and then connect the USB to the TV.

Personal Video Recorder Ready

Not only can you watch TV in HD but you can now record your favourite HD TV shows by plugging in a high speed USB memory drive into the TV’s USB port. You can then watch your favourite shows in HD wherever you go! This can be easily done via your remote or the EPG.
